DISCOGRAPHERS STORY
Hello my name is Ritchie Stubbs, born in Chihuahua Mexico and raised across the USA.
My Ace of Base story begains in the summer of 1993 when my sister Elena bought a cassette of Ace Of Base - The Sign Elena was in Denver for the summer schoolbreak along with my other 2 sisters Leah & Holly, we hung out with sevral of out younger nices and nephers and 3 of my younger sisters. We hung out 24/7 and after Elena bought this cassette we all fell in love with All That She Wants / The Sign & Happy Nations emediantly. We'd play awards shows were we would imitate Ace of Base wining the Grammy and that Singing right after receaving the awards to All That She Wants as the young siblings sat on chair as out public, what funny memories. A few weeks later my sister purchased "The Sign Home Video" VHS and we saw it many times totaly simenting out love for ace of base... some 1,5/2 mothns later my sister were sooo sick of Ace Of Base hahahah, I was far from sick of them...

Me and my Sister Elena Summer 1993
The next summer of 1994 Ace of Base was all over the Charts. I sepnt the summer in Colonia LeBaro Chihuahua wth my cousing at a time when we started becoming best friends . It was such a special summer and we found out that the fairs were coming up in 3 weeks and hear that there woudl be a talent show where we could possibly participate. So I was trilled and invited my cousins Andy & Melissa and out friend Denise to presnet an Ace of Base Presentation at the Friendhip fairs with of the song Living in Danger, Denise chickened out and so we looked around till we found Naydi who was willing to dance and lipsing with us . The presentations WAS A BLAST and a total hit with out imediate friends as our love for Ace of Base sored . By the end of that summrer 1994 we loved everything Ace Of Base and had created a club of friends called "The Croo Of Friendship , in this exclusive club of 7 member: Andy Tucker / Bill Tucker / Adriana LeBaron / Melissa LeBaron / Krystal Burgess / Denise Artalejo & Me Ritchie Stubbs we assinged an Ace of Base Song For Each of the Members as part ot their membership and i made handmade covers art of cd covers and gave them to them members . During these days I recall listening the radio when a different version of " All That She Wants " was played it was a much more relax yet amazing version possibly by another band, i have never been able to find it, i listened to all the covers made by other artist and they have not mached my memory.. Some day I'll Find it .

I then was back from that summer and living in Dencer Co. where I become mesmerized by the bands releases and creativity of maketing . I I loved how they presented Jenny & Lynn on the cover of All That She Wants and love the US artwork of the early singles. Then I found out about cassette singles and the maxi singles that included the remixes but these casseettes cost almost the same as the Cd maxi Singles it was crazy. The ran into music sheets and ran into the first Ace of Base Import I ever saw was Hapy Nation Remixes I was thrilled came back and bought it ASAP. It became my first colletions items as a collecor...thrilling times I also came across the Grammy Pamphlet that featured Ace of Base on cover and then much promotion on Music Clube like Columbia House and BMG I printed out poster of this pictures I loved. I also serach everywhere i could think of in trying to find out what edition whas the cover featured on The Sign Home video of Don't Turn Around Single.

I moved to live in Alaska, where I lived for 5 following years in 1995/ 1996 when the release of the 2nd Album happen " The Bridge" i lived as a music junkie who visited every music store in the small city and ordered whatever import was available over seas. I recall the day the Bridge was released after being push back for 2 weeks, I had my sister drive me to go pic it up at Sam Goody music Store and there it was IN ALL ITS GLORY... I was a little trown back when i saw the cover, since a month or so before its release i had seen it as an upcoimig release on a Best Buy promotional pamphelt of deals... I later recrrated that promo pic i saw of Ace of Base the Bridge, till this day i have not found the pamplet and wondered where they got that cover art they used. Of course during this time we were crazing about Beautful Life storming the Radio and Dance floors.. i was still to young to go to clubs buy my uncle that love to go dancing would tell me the times he woulld here Beautiful Life. I recall being so disapointed when I heard the whole album the first time, I was disapointed that there were such few dance house songs and little to no reggae pop, yet my first love was "Edge of Heaven " it enchanted me I thought it was such amazing music so much that i skipped shool the next day as litsted to the song endlessly and I started to open up about the rest of the Album, today its become my favorite album of Ace Of Base.

After the Bridge years Id send more times at that library. hangan out on the many websites and my all time favorite part over every website was the discography pages . I would marvel at att the different editions being poorly documented , I remember some site named Mega something and it had the best more extensive discography. and i would make print outs of the covers and in some way start keeping track of them., it was the more important information to me. I then started ordeing some import with my weekcly paychets at this music storr called Mammoth Music there in Anchorage Alaska. The came the much anticipated 3rd album ... we first herd the anoucments of the first single of "Life Is A Flower" and it seemed to me in those days that it took forever for the single to be released then a while later finally the Album Flowers..
